This initiative is about saving lives. It’s about de-stigmatizing men’s mental health, creating space for the conversation. It’s about connecting with men and then introducing them to our partner organizations that can provide them with meaningful information and tangible tools. They can build mental wellness, strength and resiliency…and save lives.

The fact of the matter is, I have struggled in the past with mental health issues. I get super depressed. But my mental health challenge doesn’t mean a lack of mental capacity. It doesn’t mean a lack of mental capability. I have some significant capacity and I am incredibly capable. It doesn’t mean that it’s a barrier to me reaching my potential. I will reach my full potential.

In addition, it’s not an excuse for my choices, my decisions or my behavior. It’s just a challenge. Of the 7.6 billion people on the planet or whatever it is, we all have challenges. It’s just a matter of working through those challenges. For me, I’ve had to create a construct that sets me up for success and it’s literally a daily strategy. So I have to wake up in the morning and set my mind right with meditation and prayer. Sometimes, that can last as much as an hour and a half. I set my mind right and then I got a work out a couple of times a day. Sometimes, if I don’t, it can get sideways for me.
